Edmund has over 10 years of recreational diving experience with more than 1000 dives conducted in various locations around the world. Edmund is now pursuing his obvious passion for diving and marine exploration and conservation through SCUBA diving instruction as a full time PADI Instructor Development Course Staff Instructor.

Through professional Instruction, Edmund hopes to share his passion and experiences to divers new and old. His hope are that more people can learn to enjoy the sport of SCUBA diving safely whilst ensuring the development of the right attitude to the underwater environment and its conservation.

Born in Hong Kong and having spent 20 years living in Canada, Edmund has grown up as a nature and outdoor enthusiast. In addition to diving he enjoys many other outdoor activities such as skiing, moutain trekking, canoeing and astronomy; Edmund brings a wealth of experience to his SCUBA Diving education.

Edmund formed a fundamental part of the Mandarin Divers team that conducted the 2011 Artificial Reef survey with Keith Wilson and AFCD. Throughout the survey, Edmund was able to gain invaluable experience into the logistics and safe diving practices required for diving Artificial Reefs. As an avid videographer and photograpther, Edmund is able to provide additional experiences in the skills required for low visability photography and videography.

Edmund Yiu is certified as PADI IDC Staff Instructor, Emergency First Response Instructor, IANTD Normoxic Trimix Technical Instructor, IART OC Level II Extended Range Instructor and DSAT Tec Deep Instructor. He is currently looking to expand his training into technical diving in wrecks and caves instruction as well as closed circuit rebreather diving.
